The lymphatic system is the body’s waste disposal or sewage system. It plays a crucial role in keeping us healthy, but it is often overlooked. A healthy lymphatic system is one where fluid flows easily so waste can flow out and oxygen and nutrients can flow in.
Lymphatic flow issues are often associated with removal of or damage to lymph nodes as part of cancer treatments. Lymph flow issues can also occur due to tight muscles, surgical scarring, decreased activity, postural adaptations due to repetitive movements and autonomic imbalances resulting from prolonged high stress.
Lymphatic system treatments involve a comprehensive assessment of the major areas of lymph nodes followed by specific bodywork techniques, worked in a particular order with the aim of stimulating the lymph system and improving flow.
